Anotace:

Disertační práce zkoumá možnosti propojování Internetu věcí (IoT) a umělecké tvorby, včetně jeho vlivu na umění ve veřejném prostoru. Přestože je Internet věcí především technickou disciplínou, je důležité překonat rozšířenou představu, že digitální technologie vytvářejí neprolomitelné bariéry mezi humanitními a technickými obory. Dostupnost internetu a chytrých zařízení mění způsoby, jakými vnímáme, žijeme a přemýšlíme v každodenním životě. Úvodní část práce se tak zaměřuje na digitální kulturu a upozorňuje na její ambivalentní vliv – na jedné straně otevírá nové možnosti kreativity a komunikace, na straně druhé přispívá k apatii a úpadku dovedností a znalostí v důsledku závislosti na technologiích.

Práce si klade za cíl přispět k hlubšímu pochopení toho, jak technologie 21. století ovlivňují umělecké vyjadřování a jeho vnímání, včetně vztahu k prostoru. Primární otázky se zaměřují na interakci mezi divákem a dílem, technické a etické výzvy při implementaci IoT a na nové formy uměleckého vyjadřování, které umožňuje propojení současných digitálních technologií s uměleckou tvorbou. Závěrem směřuje k rozsáhlému autorskému dílu, do něhož se promítají poznatky z výzkumu o Internetu věcí i empirická zkušenost autora.

The dissertation explores the possibilities of connecting the Internet of Things (IoT) with artistic creation, including its impact on public space art. Although the Internet of Things is primarily a technical discipline, it is important to overcome the widespread notion that digital technologies create insurmountable barriers between the humanities and technical fields. The accessibility of the internet and smart devices is changing the ways we perceive, live, and think in everyday life. The introductory part of the dissertation therefore focuses on digital culture and highlights its ambivalent influence – on one hand, it opens up new possibilities for creativity and communication, while on the other, it contributes to apathy and the decline of skills and knowledge due to technological dependency.

The aim of the dissertation is to contribute to a deeper understanding of how 21st-century technologies influence artistic expression and its perception, including its relationship to space. The primary questions focus on the interaction between the viewer and the artwork, the technical and ethical challenges of implementing IoT, and the new forms of artistic expression enabled by the integration of digital technologies with artistic creation. Ultimately, the dissertation culminates in a comprehensive artistic work that reflects both research findings on the Internet of Things and the author's empirical experience.
